The 200th anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail and the forces that allowed the United States to gain control of Washington and Oregon from Great Britain.

This map shows the main routes of the Santa Fe Trail, which operated between Missouri and Santa Fe, New Mexico from 1821 until the 1860s.
