1904 Election was Colorado's worst

Colorado's 1904 gubernatorial election is considered the most corrupt in the state's history.




Fraud, ballot stuffing and intimidation were all part of the mix.


Incumbent Republican Governor James Peabody, shown here, battled Democrat Alva Adams. Four and a half months later, neither man was governor.
